Must have android apps

Here are the list of must have android apps according to me:

Timely Alarm Clock 

is one of the best alarm clock app for Android. It has amazing user experience and great features. Few of them which I like are:

1) Cloud backup so that the alarms are synced across devices, no need to confirm alarms if you change your phone or have multiple Android devices.
2) Smart Rise feature which is based on what they call advanced sleep cycle theory. A melodious sound will wake you up from light morning sleep.
3) There are a whole lot of lovely themes to choose from, if you aren't happy you can go ahead and create your own. These come in pro version though.
4) It also has a tablet version which is pretty awesome.

3G Watchdog (for below ICS versions only)

If you want to track your mobile internet data usage then you should give a try to this app. 3G Watchdog data counter monitors your Mobile Internet (3G/Edge/GPRS) data usage. It can export reports as CSV and also import reports.

 You can specify the mobile billing cycle date and can set alerts which can remind you about your usage based on the limits set by you.


But this app only monitors mobile internet usage. If you are also looking for Wifi usage then probably continue reading my blog for another app :)

AndroZip File Manager








This is a pretty handy app. This app works as a file manager and a zip unzip utility. You can create a zip, encrypted zip, gzip or tar and unzip and untar them. You would like to do everything over mobile and this app is a must.  

SwiftKey X Keyboard








This one is a paid app but if you don't wanna spend money on this straight away you might well try a trial version for a month and then decide, SwiftKey X Keyboard Free. For your info this app is running on sale and has 50% discount right now. 

This app increases your typing productivity by predicting the future words along with the other features provided by the droid keyboard. By the way the more you use this app the better it can predict. It learns from the text you  type in your day to day activities.

JuiceDefender - battery saver








With smart phones these days you are never satisfied with your battery. If you want to extend your phone battery life then give a shot at this one. You can keep power consumption under control with this app. 

Skype








I need not talk much about this app. You can might well be knowing about this one. By the way if you are unaware this one is one of the best messengers for video calling and chatting. You can call any phone too at Skype rates.

IMDb Movies & TV








Find the movie or TV show ratings, timings and watch trailers. You can find user and critics ratings before deciding to go for a movie. Latest and upcoming movies news and much more.

Antivirus Free


This app is a must on mobile these days and we tend to do everything on mobile these days. This app detects harmful apps and messages, viruses, malwares, etc. This app can also lock and locate your phone when lost. Many more useful features. 

Equalizer








Need not talk much about this one. Useful app to control sound effects on your device. 

LinkedIn






If you are a professional then you might want to have this app on your device. Professional networking app to share your updates and to read the latest industry news.  

Traffic Monitor








This one a data traffic monitoring tool both for mobile and Wifi usage. It also functions as a task manager, speedometer. Not sure if this app alerts you on your usage I haven' tried alert on this app.

Quick Profiles






Miss the profile settings seen in other mobile phones? Then you won't after you have this one on. Create profiles the way you like. Customize ringer & volume settings, ringtone, brightness, timeout, also state of airplane, wifi & bluetooth. Also create shortcuts to profiles on home.

Dolphin Browser™ HD

This is one of favorite browsers in android. Its fast, not as fast as opera mini but the UI is better than opera mini. It has got tabbed browsing, multi touch pinch zooming and many other cool features. What I like the most about this browser is the Gestures feature, open any of your favorite websites with just the touch of your fingertip in lightning speed. You must definitely give a try to this app.

Google+






A social networking app from Google. I am sure this one is going to be bundled with Android 4.0 onwards. This social networking site has more privacy settings than any other. All the recent changes in facebook have been forced by Google+ to compete against this one. Give it a try. I Like the instant upload feature of this app, uploads any photo or video taken by your mobile instantaneously in to the cloud, you will never loose any pic or video now. Mobile Hangouts allows you to video chat with up to 9 friends while you’re on the go. Many other features. 

Yahoo! Messenger






I am sure I need not talk about this one too much. Who wouldn't know yahoo messenger. Would just mention one thing, lovely UI and neat design.

SMS Backup +






Do you hate to delete your SMSes? If yes then this one is for you. Backup your message on gmail. What I like the most about this app is the ability to schedule backups at desired intervals. All the SMSes are stored in a folder named SMS in your gmail account. Makes it easier to search your messages. It also allows to restore messages. And it can backup call logs too. This one is having some trouble on ICS, Android 4.0, but my ICS isn't an offical one hope it works fine when its launched officially by Google, no problems on Gingerbread though, Android 2.3

Facebook for Android






Everyone knows about facebook. This app isn't to great but is a must for everyone :) 

Facebook Messenger


















The android facebook has chat feature but this one is far better than the one that comes with facebook app. This one is pretty light, neat and easy to use. This app wins because the facebook app sucks in android.

CONTRACT KILLER: ZOMBIES (NR)






















This is my favorite game in Android these days. Look the graphics in this game. It falls under Action and Arcade category. Try it!! 

Digitally Imported Radio








This is an amazing Radio station for music lovers. Digitally Imported streams the world’s most addictive electronic music. It features renowned artists and DJs. 37 radio channels with lot of variety. I am sure you will love this.








Official eBay Android App






Everyone knows eBay, the mobile app is light, fast and neat. If you like shopping on eBay just install it. If you add the product to your wishlist it will notify you when the product is selling out and also when the product is back again.

Similar to one of the apps mentioned above, Evernote is an easy-to-use, free app that helps you remember everything across all of the devices you use. Evernote lets you take notes, capture photos, create to-do lists, record voice reminders and makes these notes completely searchable, whether you are at home, at work, or on the go.
